This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and otherwise process personal information when you visit or use our website, place an order, purchase our products, contact us, or otherwise interact with our services (collectively, the "Services").

Our store is operated from Switzerland and is powered by Shopify, which provides the technology used to operate our online store.

If there is a conflict between our Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy regarding the collection, use, or disclosure of your personal information, this Privacy Policy controls.

By using our Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

Payment information - payments are generally processed by third-party payment providers. We may receive information such as the payment method used, transaction confirmation, and payment status. We generally do not have access to your full payment card number.

Account information - if you create an account, we may process your email address, account credentials, preferences, and account settings.

Communications - when you contact us, we collect the information you provide, including your name, email address, order details, and the content of your communication.

Device and technical information - automatically collected when you visit our website, including IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, general location, referring website, pages viewed, and date and time of visits.

Usage and cookie information - we may use cookies and similar technologies to operate our website, remember preferences, understand usage, and support advertising, as described in our Your Privacy Choices page.

3. How We Collect Personal Information

We collect personal information directly from you (placing an order, creating an account, contacting us), automatically through your use of our website (cookies and similar technologies), and from Shopify and other service providers, payment processors, shipping partners, and fraud-prevention partners.

4. How We Use Your Personal Information

We use personal information to:

  • process and fulfill orders, process payments, arrange delivery, and provide customer support;
  • operate, maintain, and improve our website and shopping experience;
  • personalize your experience and recommend products;
  • send marketing communications, where you have not opted out (see Section 9);
  • detect and prevent fraud, and protect our website and customers;
  • comply with applicable law, respond to lawful requests, and maintain business records; and
  • establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

5. How We Share Personal Information

We may disclose personal information to:

Shopify, which hosts and powers our online store. See the Shopify Privacy Policy for details.

Payment providers, to process payments and prevent fraud.

Shipping and fulfillment providers, including suppliers who may ship products directly to you from outside the United States. Because some of our products are shipped directly from suppliers located in China and elsewhere, information necessary to fulfill your order may be transferred to service providers or suppliers in other countries.

Technology and service providers, including providers of hosting, analytics, customer support, fraud prevention, email, and marketing/advertising services.

Advertising partners, such as Google Ads and Meta, which may use cookies to deliver relevant ads and measure their performance. This may be considered "sharing" of personal information under certain state privacy laws - see Section 10 for your choices.

Legal and business purposes, where necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, protect our rights, investigate fraud, or complete a business transaction such as a merger or sale of assets.

We do not sell personal information for money. As of the effective date of this Privacy Policy, we do not have actual knowledge that we sell or share (as those terms are defined under applicable law) the personal information of individuals under 16 years of age.

6. International Transfers

Because we are based in Switzerland and use service providers and suppliers located outside the United States - including in Switzerland and China - your personal information may be processed in countries other than your own. We take reasonable steps to ensure that any such transfer is subject to appropriate safeguards.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to comply with legal, accounting, and tax obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it where reasonably possible.

8. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your state of residence, you may have rights under applicable state privacy laws, which may include the right to:

  • know what personal information we have collected about you;
  • access a copy of your personal information;
  • correct inaccurate personal information;
  • delete your personal information, subject to certain exceptions;
  • receive a copy of your personal information in a portable format and, where technically feasible, have it transferred to a third party;
  • opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, or of targeted advertising; and
  • not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

These rights are available to residents of certain states, including California, and may vary depending on where you live. For more detail on how to exercise these rights, see our Your Privacy Choices page.

To submit a request, contact us at chimerine.support@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know the categories of personal information we have sold or shared over the past 12 months (see Section 5) and to opt out of that sharing through our Your Privacy Choices page.

9. Marketing Communications

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in the relevant communication, or by contacting us. We may continue to send non-promotional communications necessary to fulfill your orders, such as order confirmations and shipping updates.

10. Cookies and Advertising

We use cookies and similar technologies for purposes including operating our website, remembering your cart, understanding site usage, and delivering and measuring advertising.

You can manage your cookie preferences and opt out of targeted advertising through our Your Privacy Choices page, your browser settings, or industry opt-out tools such as the Digital Advertising Alliance's opt-out page.

We do not currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals, as no common industry standard for recognizing them has been established, except where required by applicable state law.

11. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee perfect security. We recommend that you do not use unsecure or unencrypted channels, such as email, to send us highly sensitive information (for example, full payment card numbers).

12. Children's Privacy

Our Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 in violation of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

13. Third-Party Websites

Our Services may contain links to websites or services operated by third parties. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

14. Complaints

If you have concerns about how we process your personal information, please contact us first at chimerine.support@gmail.com so that we can try to resolve the issue. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your state's attorney general or applicable data protection authority.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where required by law, provide additional notice.
