Our store is operated from Switzerland and is powered by Shopify, which provides the technology used to operate our online store.
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) where they apply to us, and with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection, as we are based in Switzerland.
If there is a conflict between our Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy regarding the collection, use, or disclosure of your personal information, this Privacy Policy controls.

Chimerine is responsible for the personal information described in this Privacy Policy, wherever it is processed.
2. Personal Information We Collect
Depending on how you interact with our Services, we may collect the following categories of personal information:
Contact and delivery information - name, billing address, delivery address, email address, telephone number, and other contact details you provide.
Order and transaction information - products you purchase, products you add to your cart or interact with, order numbers, order history, returns, refunds, cancellations, exchanges, payment status, and communications relating to your orders.
Payment information - payments are generally processed by third-party payment providers. We may receive information such as the payment method used, transaction confirmation, and payment status. We generally do not have access to your full payment card number.
Account information - if you create an account, we may process your email address, account credentials, preferences, and account settings.
Communications - when you contact us, we collect the information you provide, including your name, email address, order details, and the content of your communication.
Device and technical information - automatically collected when you visit our website, including IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, general location, referring website, pages viewed, and date and time of visits.

We collect personal information directly from you (placing an order, creating an account, contacting us), automatically through your use of our website (cookies and similar technologies), and from Shopify and other service providers, payment processors, shipping partners, and fraud-prevention partners.

5. How We Share Personal Information
We may disclose personal information to:
Shopify, which hosts and powers our online store. See the Shopify Privacy Policy for details.
Payment providers, to process payments and prevent fraud.
Shipping and fulfilment providers, including suppliers who may ship products directly to you from outside Australia. Because some of our products are shipped directly from suppliers located in China and elsewhere, information necessary to fulfil your order may be transferred to service providers or suppliers in other countries.
Technology and service providers, including providers of hosting, analytics, customer support, fraud prevention, email, and marketing/advertising services.
Advertising partners, such as Google Ads and Meta, which may use cookies to deliver relevant ads and measure their performance. This may be considered "sharing" of personal information under certain privacy laws - see Section 10 for your choices.
Legal and business purposes, where necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, protect our rights, investigate fraud, or complete a business transaction such as a merger or sale of assets.
We do not sell personal information for money.
6. International Transfers
Because we are based in Switzerland and use service providers and suppliers located outside Australia - including in Switzerland and China - your personal information may be processed in countries other than Australia. We take reasonable steps to ensure overseas recipients handle your information consistently with this Privacy Policy.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to comply with legal, accounting, and tax obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it where reasonably possible.
8. Your Privacy Rights
You may ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you access to it;
- correct personal information that is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete;
- delete personal information we no longer need, subject to our legal, accounting and tax obligations; and
- stop using your personal information for direct marketing or targeted advertising.

9. Marketing Communications
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in the relevant communication, or by contacting us. We only send marketing emails with your consent, and every marketing email includes an unsubscribe option, as required by the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). We may continue to send non-promotional communications necessary to fulfil your orders, such as order confirmations and shipping updates.
10. Cookies and Advertising
We use cookies and similar technologies for purposes including operating our website, remembering your cart, understanding site usage, and delivering and measuring advertising.
You can manage your cookie preferences and opt out of targeted advertising through your browser settings, or the opt-out tools provided by advertising partners such as Google and Meta.
We do not currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals, as no common industry standard for recognising them has been established.
11. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee perfect security. We recommend that you do not use unsecure or unencrypted channels, such as email, to send us highly sensitive information (for example, full payment card numbers).
12. Children's Privacy
Our Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

Our Services may contain links to websites or services operated by third parties. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
